The Origin of
Nyonya Suan Restaurant
Nyonya Suan Restaurant's Trademark, the combination of orange and green. It's represented the two elements in Inching, that is Yin and Yang.
Green represented Bukit China (which means "Chinese Hill" in Malay). Admiral Cheng Ho's 7 treasure voyages expedition when their stopover in Malacca during the Ming Dynasty. The Chinese named the hill that Cheng Ho stopover as "San Bao San". Orange represented the light of the sun. It was the symbol of Ming Dynasty. The Chinese word "Ming" is the combination of sun and moon. The sun and the moon is the remarkable sign to all seafearer. Besides, "Yang " (Sea) is homonym to the Malacca Strait, and the ship represented the ship which Cheng Ho had used.
